First Movers Fellowship Program

Making Work Matter is based on Nancy’s experience with the Aspen Institute First Movers Fellowship, which she founded in 2009. This program is designed for innovators working in large companies who are exceptionally good at their craft and also able to create new products, services, and management practices that deliver value for their companies and for society.

Since the beginning, this program has equipped business leaders with the skills and mindsets they need to become even more capable and courageous changemakers.  The stories and practical advice included in the book draw on lessons learned from Nancy’s work with hundreds of these “intrapreneurs” over 15 years.

During the program, every Fellow works on a “next stage” innovation project.  You can see the complete list of projects here.

Each year the Aspen First Movers team selects a new class of exceptional innovators for this program.  If you know someone who might qualify the program, you can nominate them here.
